Mimi & Moi Jewelry Review and Giveaway! CLOSED

I opened a tin box to find this most gorgeous necklace I've ever seen in my life. On top of that, Melisa of Mimi & Moi on Esty also gifted me with a fun cocktail ring made of a white stone and copper wire. I put the necklace on and wanted to vow never to take it off. It felt like wearing treasure from Lord of the Rings or some other fantasy world.

Made of apple-green coin pearls with soft lemon crystals drops, this necklace is the ultimate in femininity and fantasy. Honestly a mermaid princess should be swimming around in this necklace. I had to know where Melisa Baker gets the inspiration to make something this beautiful.

She told me "When I create jewelry for specific people it’s those individuals that inspire me, otherwise it's the colors and textures of the beads mixed together and mixed with various metals that inspires me." Melisa gets her materials from local stores and people in San Diego. She likes to support her community businesses as much as possible.

And I'm sure thankful she does, because thanks to her support I have the most beautiful necklace in the world. Melisa also really enjoys working closely with her customers. They can be her prime inspiration, the focus of her piece. "Each person has their own style and each bead seems to call out to be featured in jewelry in their own way."

Melisa also likes to get creative with mixing various textures, colors, and metals together.   She has a range of styles from simple and elegant to artsy and chunky.  Melisa told me, "I enjoy mixing bead textures and metals - so a natural stone like turquoise might stand out beautifully next to a swarovski crystal and then wrap both in copper wire. Take a look at the Avery or the Jen (necklaces) for good examples of this."
