Doctor Kracker Snacker Crackers, Culinary Crisps & Flatbreads

I brought a box of the Klassic 3 seed flavored culinary crisps to the ER during my last shift. The other doctors looked at me like I was crazy for bringing a healthy snack to share rather than candy. It's crazy how all of us doctors take a nutrition course during medical school, yet few of us actually heed the lessons.

It was about time we started, and I wanted everyone to try these culinary crisps. Doctor Kracker flatbreads and snacker crackers are all-natural, baked, whole grain crackers. Not only are they crunchy, tasty and quite addictive, but each serving has the recommended 3 grams of fiber we learned about in school. On top of that, these snacks are packed with protein!

One by one, each doctor tried a crisp. Their hands surely reached for seconds. Even nurses and techs got wind of my shared snack. Everyone really loved them and the box was empty by the end of our shift.

Doctor Kracker flatbreads, snacker crackers and culinary crisps come in a total of 9 amazing flavors, and I couldn't wait to get home and try a couple of others ones. My favorites are officially the Pumpkin Seed Cheddar (because I love everything pumpkin) and Apple Crisp. There is the subtlest yet tastiest sweetness to the Apple Crisps.

Let me tell you a little bit more about the flatbreads. These are perfect for making a MEAL out the crackers. I love to throw in some deli meat and a slice of cheese for a crunchy, healthy sandwich.

Perfect as a snack or meal, Doctor Kracker has me hooked. A medical doctor wasn’t involved in the formulation of Doctor Krackers, but as a medical doctor I am highly recommending them for flavor, nutrition and overall health.

Have you checked out ChickDowntown.com yet? If not, you must head over. This is one of those online stores that is so much more than a place to get the latest labels. ChickDowntown has a blog with several contributors who write about all the latest and greatest fashions, including which celebrity is sporting them. I'm an avid reader, and thanks to ChickDowntown, I have a lot more favorite designers.

BB Dakota is a brand that I discovered through ChickDowntown.com. The label is young, modern and inspired by major fashion icons. These clothes are very affordable, allowing more of us to enjoy fantastic fashion. Check out the Battalion Jacket (RIP Michael Jackson) which comes in black and ivory and the Twilight jacket which also comes in Forest and Silver Birch! How awesome are they?

I am also in LOVE with Love Quote scarves. They've been around for a while and worn by many

Mimi & Moi Jewelry Review and Giveaway! CLOSED

Blythe-apple green coin pearls, lemon crystal briolettes and sterling silver necklace
I opened a tin box to find this most gorgeous necklace I've ever seen in my life. On top of that, Melisa of Mimi & Moi on Esty also gifted me with a fun cocktail ring made of a white stone and copper wire. I put the necklace on and wanted to vow never to take it off. It felt like wearing treasure from Lord of the Rings or some other fantasy world.

Made of apple-green coin pearls with soft lemon crystals drops, this necklace is the ultimate in femininity and fantasy. Honestly a mermaid princess should be swimming around in this necklace. I had to know where Melisa Baker gets the inspiration to make something this beautiful.

She told me "When I create jewelry for specific people it’s those individuals that inspire me, otherwise it's the colors and textures of the beads mixed together and mixed with various metals that inspires me." Melisa gets her materials from local stores and people in San Diego. She likes to support her community businesses as much as possible.

And I'm sure thankful she does, because thanks to her support I have the most beautiful necklace in the world. Melisa also really enjoys working closely with her customers. They can be her prime inspiration, the focus of her piece. "Each person has their own style and each bead seems to call out to be featured in jewelry in their own way."

Melisa also likes to get creative with mixing various textures, colors, and metals together.   She has a range of styles from simple and elegant to artsy and chunky.  Melisa told me, "I enjoy mixing bead textures and metals - so a natural stone like turquoise might stand out beautifully next to a swarovski crystal and then wrap both in copper wire. Take a look at the Avery or the Jen (necklaces) for good examples of this."

Well you heard her! Check out Melisa's work at Mimi & Moi on Etsy!

Not only do you have to see what she offers, but you must tell me what you'd love since Melisa has generously offered to give one of you a gift certificate of $25 for any item of your choice... OR a custom piece!!!!

Marokel Necklace Review and Giveaway! CLOSED

Asian Double Intrique necklace

A few years ago, I spent a summer living in China. The culture is amazing, with a difficult language and unique sense of art and style. I had a wonderful time living there and exploring the history and the people. When I received my necklace from Marokel, I was transported back to that summer and all the wonderful memories came flooding back.

One thing I remember was how much I loved asian characters and design, and their influence on art and jewelry. This is why I LOVE the necklace from Marokel. It has several characters embedded in the large stone and the silver chain. "Trust" being the main character.

I love having this necklace around my neck because it reminds me to trust myself and believe in myself no matter how my day is going. To the outsider, they may not notice the subtlety of the characters. What they see is an edgy piece of jewelry with two necklaces combined into one.

Mary, the designer behind Marokel, told me she loves being able to see peoples' reactions to her designs. She has always bought jewelry for herself based on the premise that it MUST be unique. She loves finding new techniques and creating new designs. Inspired by shapes and color, Mary buys components she feels are interesting.

When you check out Marokel on Etsy, you will find everything to be interesting and unique. And I'm sure you'll want a piece for yourself, which is why I am very excited to have partnered with Mary for an awesome giveaway!

Mary has generously offered to give one of my readers your choice of item(s) from her shop up to $25! This could get you several items!

How to win:

Visit Marokel on Etsy and tell me what items you will get up to $25.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LEAVE YOUR EMAIL TOO!

If you CANNOT wait to win, Mary is offering a 10% discount to all of my readers. All you have to do is send a message to her on Etsy and mention that you found her through Roxy Shops Giveaway.

Winner will have 72 hours to contact me.

Only one entry per person. Duplicates will be deleted. I will use random.org to select the winner.

Contest ends August 20th.

Ella Pearl Jewelry Review!

roxy. earrings. by ellapearlbycarrie

When I got my earrings from Ella Pearl by Carrie's shop, I couldn't believe my eyes. Packaged adorably in a tiffany-colored jewelry box, I couldn't wait to see what Carrie had made for me. Seriously, I had no idea what I was getting. She specifically designed these earrings for me... which is why they are called Roxy! I couldn't be more flattered.

These earrings were unlike anything I've ever seen or owned. The chain-link triangle shape was edgy. The bronze and copper material gave it a rustic appeal. The swarovski crystals... to die for. All in all I saw myself wearing these with an elegant dress at night and jeans during the day. And that's exactly what I did when I wore them out for girls' night.

The earrings elongated my neck and added just the right amount of sparkle to my outfit. Carrie's custom-work was fantastic and ALL mine. (Ok you can buy it too)

Carrie has only been making jewelry since early 2009, but she realized her talent for design in high school.  What she loves about hand-made jewelry is "the idea that someone sat down and took their time to make a piece of wearable art." So she bought some materials, a book and dove right in!

Carrie gets her inspiration from vintage designs and women of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. She is infatuated with the idea of reusing beads that were created during those times. And because of that Carrie wants you to know "the majority of my pieces will be in small quantities and possibly one-of-a kind because I LOVE to work with rare, vintage beads. The focus to my jewelry line is vintage inspired, whether that means that the item is true vintage, or vintage looking."

So what are you waiting for? Get her jewelry before somebody else does!

Check out her etsy shop at ellapearlbycarrie.etsy.com

And in the future keep a lookout for an Ella Pearl boutique, as Carrie's dream is to own a shop where she can sell various items including HER jewelry.
