I'd like to think I'm organized in my mess.

If you ask me where my stapler is, I'd reply that it is under the bed by the right corner near the window under a magazine.

See? organized.

My fiance is the total opposite, and has been trying to be "good influence" for me. 

When I received the Rubbermaid Bento™ boxes and toppers, my fiance was excited to organize my stuff.

And I was more than happy to supervise.

First, we agreed that these boxes were fantastic. They're sturdy and stylish. The Flex dividers on the inside are perfect for further organizing smaller items. We took the smallest square box and organized my writing utensils on my desk. 

The rectangular small box fit perfectly under my bed, so we turned it into my new medicine/first aid kit to store those items!

The larger boxes were great for storing some books that I love, but couldn't fit on my tiny shelf.  I stacked the boxes and put them next to my couch to use as a side table.

Admittedly I was a little nervous that these boxes would add to my already existing clutter in a very tiny apartment. While one box does act an extra piece of furniture, the overall ability to store things has been an improvement.

And the gorgeous Paprika red fabric adds a nice decorative touch.

WaterHorse studios Wish bracelet giveaway!

I usually do a pretty good job of not wearing my engagement ring to the gym. I don't want it to hurt my finger while lifting or, God-forbid, lose the ring by it falling off. But last week I forgot to leave it at home, and instead of enjoying my work-out, I panicked for about an hour as to whether it was loosening up, falling off, getting scratched, etc.

These bracelets are made from hand-dyed, 100% organic silk ribbon and are dotted with brilliant Bali small, medium and large silver dangles and decorative tubes, which slide to suit your liking. For someone like me with really small wrists, I could adjust the size and tuck in the ends of the ribbon for a perfectly fitted bracelet that doesn't interfere with motion.

Tiffany has been talented in the arts since she was a child, involved in many artistic activities up through  currently earning an MFA degree at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and working as a graphic designer. Though she works mostly with computers, Tiffany's love for fashion and  for creation helped her establish Water Horse Studios.

Tiffany's inspiration mostly comes from the heart. As she says, "the tiniest smallest places inside of us. The whispers, the internal conversations, the sentimental side of life. TSB Creations giveaway and discount!

What can I say about yoga. It's freakin difficult the first few times. I had no idea how inflexible I was.  My muscles ached for days. But the instructor assured me with continued practice, things would get better.

But I wasn't convinced about yoga just yet. I bought a 2 week trial at a local place and it was crazy popular. I was lucky if I wasn't hugging the person right next to me, and I also felt a little jealous. They all clearly had been doing it longer.

I stuck with it, though. I kept trying all different kinds of classes, and then I came upon the hip hop yoga class. The instructor was super inspiring and funny. She actually had us do some hip hop moves in between poses. It was fun!

And then... my flexibilty improved. My endurance lasted longer. The silence and peace at the end of the session relieved stress and anxiety... and well... I was standing taller! (ok maybe just straighter... terrible posture).

Yoga is a different experience for different people, so it was great to hear Tonya's story. She created this yoga bag and is the designer behind TSB creations on etsy.

Tonya has been doing yoga for 10 years. For her, it's about bringing the body and mind together. When she found the instructor for her, she was pleasantly surprised and her yoga experience has been great ever since.

A very good friend of Tonya's is also into yoga and Tonya made her first yoga mat bag as a present for her friend. It was a big hit so she made a few more, including the one you see above.

Yoga has been a great inspiration for Tonya. She loves to embroider and found inspiration in embroidering yoga themes onto fabric and then making those into useful products.

Tonya has been crafty since she was a child, and her talent was encouraged by her mother, starting with embroidery. She continued to expand with sewing and now she sells her beautiful creations!

What makes TSB Creations unique is that in addition to being handmade, many of the products are also hand embroidered with Tonya's own designs.

"I know there are some other more intricate designers out there but they use machines to create and implement those designs, my hands do everything in my shop"-Tonya.

Chocolates by Joanne review and GIVEAWAY!

I've been to plenty of weddings in my lifetime and my favorite thing is the wedding favor that is sitting by my plate. I always hated those hard candies. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about (and maybe you love them).

I am of the personal belief that you can never go wrong with chocolate, especially the artisan chocolate that you really can only get at specialty shops.

When Joanne from Chocolates by Joanne sent me some samples of her chocolate, I fell in LOVE.

I received a couple of chocolate-covered Oreos, a chocolate daisy lollipop and a chocolate sunflower lollipop.

I'll start with the chocolate-covered Oreos. So when Oreo announced double-stuffed cookies, I thought God had answered my prayers. Little did I know Oreos could be used for something better! The confetti all over the Oreos were fun... and the taste... oh the taste... yum yum yum!

The next day I tried the chocolate sunflower lollipop. (Are you all impressed with my ability to wait a day before trying another sample?) The smooth and creamy chocolate melted in my mouth. It was so delicious that I sucked on the lollipop stick for a long time before finally realizing I had eaten every little bit of chocolate.

All of the chocolates are made out of creamy and delicious Merckens chocolate. The majority of chocolate is molded. Some designs are done by hand. ALL of the designs are painted by free hand.

Joanne started making chocolates almost 20 years ago as gifts for family members. Her popularity grew and now she has an online store! In addition, several private shops and boutiques in the New York and New Jersey area sell her chocolates.

Yoga Bag review and GIVEAWAY! (CLOSED)

I was introduced to Groupon less than a year ago, and as a foodie and fitness lover I've been taking advantage of many deals in the Boston area.

When a deal came up for yoga, I thought I'd give it a shot. A girl-friend of mine was already into the practice at the same studio so I started going with her.


It takes a little getting used to, but I now love it. It has been such an inspiration and stress reliever that I just had to share it with you guys.

So when Carolyn from Shop Earthangie on Etsy sent me a yoga bag to review, I thought the perfect way to introduce you guys to my interest in yoga would be with a GIVEAWAY!

This hand-made yoga bag tote is made with fabric. It has more than one layer to make it sturdy. There is a nice long handle to throw it over your shoulder and a pocket for small items such as car keys. The thing I love the most is that it can be thrown in with your next load of laundry!

Carolyn made this yoga bag when she thought about how easy it could be to make her own. She tried with success and then decided to make more and sell them for less so people could still buy something and have money left over for class!

Most of Carolyn's sewed "creations" do not come from a pattern, yoga bags included. She will start with the most simple layout,  master the pattern and then start to get fancy. Over time,  she found different ways to attach straps. In addition, some bags have buttons, some have drawstrings, some have velcro flaps and some are left open. Some have pockets on the outside and some don't. Anything can be requested of Carolyn, she lets people tell her what they want if they don't see what they need.

Carolyn has been crafty since childhood. She started with art, which can be found here, and crafts popped up here and there throughout her life. Her inspiration comes from an Affinpincher, named Emma, from "Little Paws 4 U", an organization based out of Rhode Island that transports mistreated and abandoned dogs up north to new homes.

Being a "southern belle" and not fond of rain or wind, going outside for Emma quickly became an obstacle as it was autumn when she was adopted getting COLD! Carolyn's mother had sewn together a one layer, two piece fleece for her chihuahua so Carolyn took the pattern and made one for Emma. Then Carolyn thought - why not make and sell dog coats?

That's where she started on etsy and entered the craft world of selling and going to shows, through dog coats. With her "distracted" brain, Carolyn has veered off and done tons of different things.

When Carolyn walks into a store, she keeps her eyes open to notice pretty things. When she does she thinks, "how can I figure out how to make that?" Then she doe... and hopes you like it too.

I just celebrated one of my best friend's 30th birthday. As a gift, I gave her a "gladiator-esque" ring. She loved it and wore it the whole night. At the end of the night, back at her apartment, we were chatting away about life. She thanked me for her ring and then said how much she loved my bracelet.

Rachel, the designer behind the shop Green Hide on etsy, sent me this leather bracelet for a review. I explained to my friend that it was made from a recycled leather belt and disassembled vintage jewelry.

We both marveled at the bracelet and then proceeded to talk about how it's a good thing we had jobs since we could never be as creative as Rachel.

Rachel became a jewelry designer when she envisioned a leather necklace that she could not find anywhere. Even online.  So she decided to try and make it herself by buying inexpensive leather from the thrift store.

Ultimately, she ended up leaving with a cart full of old leather coats, skirts, etc. of as many colors as possible.  After making her first piece and receiving a plethora of compliments from strangers,  she decided to make more and eventually started to sell them.

tjr1 Handcrafted Earrings

White and lace are huge this fashion season, but it's still freezing in the northeast so I haven't given summer a thought. And then Tara, the designer behind tjr1 Handcrafted Earrings on etsy, sent me a pair of funky orange earrings to review.

Canon Camera

A couple years ago for graduation, my boyfriend at the time bought me an amazing Canon camera.

Maid of Honor Dress!

  After a heavy scouring of the internet along with a Powerpoint presentation of amazingly affordable maid of honor dresses, I stumbled into Bella Bridesmaid on Newbury Street in Boston and FELL IN LOVE with this dress.
  It is called the Jae dress by designer Joanna August. Yes it was ridiculously expensive, but the silk! OH THE SILK! It felt so good!
  And without being completely and over the top arrogant (yeah right)... I look amazing in it!
 Now granted I had to try on a size 8 and I happen to be a size less than zero, but the draping over my shoulder was phenomenal.
 So I emailed a pic to my sister and mom. They loved. Then dad gave me the money to buy it.
 Massive Score! WooHoo!

Classique Collections Review and DISCOUNT!

As mentioned in one of my last few posts, I am the maid of honor for my sister's wedding in Italy. Her color scheme is pink and yellow (think roses), so while I know it won't be too difficult to find a pink dress, I didn't know how to incorporate the yellow... until I thought about the Rachel Leigh Chain ribbon bracelets that were so popular a few seasons ago.

I jumped on Etsy.com to do a ribbon bracelet search, and I stumbled up the shop Classique Collections. The photos of wedding accessories were amazing! I couldn't believe my eyes with the creativity, elegance and craftmanship of the products... so naturally I contacted the owner, Sheena, to learn more.

Sheena was kind enough to let me review the Eva bracelet in Gold. When I tried on the bracelet, I was in LOVE. The bracelet visualized in person is even better than the pictures on Etsy. The detail and care were obvious. The talent can't be argued.

Sheen told me that she has always had an interest in crafting, but only started making more original and  formal pieces about a year ago. She had to have surgery that kept her from walking for months, so in that time she built up her skills with working with her hands.

Sheena finds inspiration in the world around her, especially the women in her life. Most of her items have ladies names which correlate with the names of the women in her life that she can see wearing those pieces or flowers.

In addition, Sheena finds inspiration from her customers who have a vision of something special and unique but can't quite find their ideal item on their own. By working with her customers, Sheena is able to create something they are excited about.

The Eva bracelet I reviewed is one example of Sheena working with a customer to create a special bracelet specifically for her Maid of Honor.

Did someone say Maid of Honor? That will be my role in a few short months, and I think I'll have the perfect bracelet to wear thanks to Sheena. And if my sister wants me to get something a little bit more yellow than Gold, I'll just contact Sheena!

As Sheena said, "I cut all my petals for all my flowers individually and won't sell anything that I'm not proud of. I'm also totally willing to work with customers to come up with new creations or make changes to the items in my own store to make it perfect for them"

First a Maid of Honor, then a Bride
